![]() The monster bent its head back and flung it forward down on Seven, mouth open. Six and Seven tried to wriggle themselves free, but its grip was too strong. It caught both children by chance, curling its disgustingly long fingers around them. “What in the actual hell-?” The Lady hopped back when the monster stumbled forward, groping the air to anything. The leech monster hissed angrily at them. It also had long, lanky arms with fingers that had fanged suckers at the end. It barely rose its head higher than the Lady’s waist, but the leech looked fatter and with short, stubby legs. It was much bigger than the ones found in near the depths of the Maw, but not tall. The vent behind them exploded and out popped the leech monster. “Where did you get that book!?” she gasped. Seven clung to the thick leather book, like it was a shield. “You!” She raised her hand and picked up Six and Seven from the floor with her dark magic. The children caught her sharp dark eyes instantly. But, before Six could answer, the Lady of the Maw emerged from one of the sliding doors, as if on cue. She had a point, but the Lady was the only person that could do anything about their magical mishap. “Well, do you have any ideas?” Seven looked at her snarky face. ![]() “Are you sure?” Six asked, “She’s gonna kill us when she finds out what happened to the Janitor.” “Good, we’re in the Guest area,” Seven said, “Now, we just gotta find the Lady.” They hurried forward at a faster pace, getting through the exiting vent and into a corridor filled with sliding Japanese doors. The kids didn’t hesitate to wait for the leech monster to catch up to them. It was too dark to see the beginning, but they could hear something heavy and wet slithering their way. Six and Seven stopped bickering and looked behind them. “That’s why I told you to NOT read it, shit face!” “How was I suppose to know that it’ll work!?” “Yeah! We wouldn’t be in this situation if YOU didn’t read that spell!” “Well, we wouldn’t be in this situation if you didn’t steal that witch’s book!” “Shut ya trap and keep moving!” Seven shot back, “We don’t have time for this!” “Dumbass,” Six hissed, “I can’t believe you went to go get the book.” The passage was narrow, but they had to keep moving. The pair slid and ducked into a vent, and kept moving. Seven was just lucky enough to snatch up the book before the monster could eat it, and then ran away again with Six. The leech hissed wildly and dove fang first into the wooden plank floors. “And have the Lady kill us!?” Seven shouted back, “I’d rather get eaten by the leech thing!” “Are you stupid!? Leave it!!” She snatched her friend’s wrist and tugged. ![]() He skidded to a stop and turned to retrieve it, but Six stopped him. Seven accidentally let the thick, leather book he was carrying slip out of his hand. Six and Seven fled down the hall with a leech monster quickly chasing them. I hope you enjoy it!Ĭharacters: the Lady, Six, the Runaway Kid It’s not bad, but I ended up making the Lady the strict mom type…with two rascal children. ![]()
